GAME OVER
If we look at the different epochs in the past, these two words have, of course, always met with resistance!
Those sitting at the levers of power want to stay there at almost any price! No matter what the cost, even if there are thousands of dead! That is just collateral damage, some said and still say it succinctly, "Well, it's war!"
At least they could step down from the world stage and do so with dignity, but mostly they can't yet!
Napoleon finally, after initial reluctance and unsuccessful new attempts, withdrew to Elba, but still wanted to be addressed as Majesty. Waterloo or not!
Many a ruler went or was forced to go into exile in distant countries, but from there has tried with more or less minor successes to continue to pull the strings and has continued to cling to his status.
In earlier centuries, the poison cups circled at royal courts to get to the levers of power and wealth! Then the brother kills the brother, the husband kills the wife, in order to get hold of the land through a new marriage. Even the Vatican was not spared, the Lucrezia Borgia poison cups are legendary.
Dark figures between the bridges and canals of Venice took care of many a problem with a knife, which then disappeared into the canal.
In today's democracies, the people decide who stays or who has to go. And now there are egomaniacs who suddenly find with astonishment that there are people who withdraw their voices from him, who refuse to give them their consent. And in terms of the old power structures, they try to deny that. It can not be what may not be! It can only be fraud! And in the old bulldozer fashion, they try to verbally and loudly roll down this new trend.
They lapse into the old sandpit times and beat around with the shovel or scatter sand in the gears.
They shout this “injustice” into the world and ask themselves desperately why their love has been withdrawn from them! Since they made everything so wonderful and unique, from a purely subjective point of view, of course. At some point, however, they too will have to let go of the gear levers before they are humiliated and forcibly carried out of the palace!
